Utz-Sanby Architects is a practice that has focused on delivering high quality residential projects since 1994. The directors, Kristin Utz and Duncan Sanby established this firm having gained experience working in London, Hong Kong and Sydney for firms including Bennetts Associates, Foster and Partners and Cox Richardson.
We enjoy the variety and challenges of different architectural projects, including work to heritage listed buildings, multi-residential developments, re-use, educational facilities and restaurant fit-outs. In all our projects we seek to deliver the best possible design solutions and attention to detail. We design buildings that are environmentally responsive, innovative and sustainable and that are appropriate for the location, brief and budget.
We have an extensive portfolio of built work, including a large number of houses for clients on coastal, rural, urban and suburban sites all over Sydney and regional NSW. We have undertaken several projects that involve major alterations and additions to heritage listed houses and continue to work in this area. More recently we have been involved in multi-residential developments, including apartments in Kirribilli and Chatswood and conceptual designs for housing and holiday accommodation in Fiji and on Hamilton Island. We have won several awards for new houses, heritage projects and alterations and additions.
We are passionate about good design and providing excellent service. Utz-Sanby Architects prides itself on thorough documentation, our ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely and delivering buildings with design integrity. Our homes are both climatically responsive and responsible using a wide range of materials and innovative structural and technical solutions.
